IKECHUKWU PETER CHIDOLUE, SJ, a Jesuit of the North-West Africa Province of the Society of Jesus, was born in Lagos, Nigeria. He joined the Jesuits in 1995. After a two-year initial training period in Jesuit and Ignatian traditions in Benin City, during which time he worked as a medical assistant at Monaiya Catholic Hospital and Leprosarium, Ogoja, he then proceeded to Arrupe College (now Arrupe Jesuit University, Harare, Zimbabwe) where he bagged a BA Hons in Philosophy in 2001.

Following his return from studies in 2001, he taught Mathematics at Loyola Jesuit College. In 2003, he continued to Fordham University, New York, where in 2005 he earned an MBA in Public Accounting. Between 2005 and 2009, he worked as a financial consultant for Hekima Jesuit University College, Nairobi, Kenya, while doubling as a theologian at the same institution. In 2009, he bagged again a bachelor’s in theology.

Following his priestly ordination in 2009, he held the position of province treasurer for the Jesuits of Anglophone West Africa, managing and coordinating the entire gamut of financial activities of the Jesuits in Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and the Gambia.

During this time, while also sitting as a member of the board of Trustees of Loyola Jesuit College, he delivered financial seminars for Jesuit treasurers all over Africa and for treasurers of other religious congregations and orders in Nigeria and beyond. Between 2009 and 2011, he was the chair of the Jesuit treasurers Association of Africa and Madagascar.

Following his time as treasurer of the Jesuits in 2016, he became the Director of the Jesuit Retreat Center in Cape Coast, Ghana. An adept spiritual director, he would toil for the next two years organizing Jesuit and Ignatian spirituality programs all over Ghana.

Fr. Peter Chidolue, S.J., is driven by the desire to make a difference and to transform society by making it better than he met it. He is able to find opportunities in difficult and challenging circumstances. He is gifted with a very analytical mind.
